Updated Health Guidelines
Bemus Point Central School District
Availability of Rapid Tests
The district has been provided with rapid COVID test kits. We are able to provide a rapid test kit to families for home use at no cost to the families. School nurses are no longer allowed to perform rapid testing in the health offices. Please contact any building nurse to request a rapid test kit.
Building Health Office Procedures
Our goal is to quickly identify positive cases of COVID. Please notify one of the building nurses if your child/children have tested positive for COVID-19. Those who test positive will need to be isolated at home and will be provided with a return date to school. Individuals are allowed to return to school under the following conditions:
- Five days of isolation. (Day 0 begins when symptoms begin or on the day of the positive test)
- After five days, symptoms are improving. If symptoms persist, further isolation will be required.
- Fever free for 24 hours.
- Face coverings are recommended, but not required upon return from isolation during days 6 through 10 after COVID-19 infection.
What about household members of someone who tested positive for COVID-19?
- It is recommended that if you have been exposed to COVID-19 that you wear a mask.
- Testing is not required unless symptoms develop.
- If symptoms develop you should test and retest 3 days later.
